This Chinese rocket was struck by lightning right as it was taking off

In China, a Long March 3B rocket was struck by lightning just 30 seconds after liftoff from the Xichang Space Center. The image is striking: the electrical discharge courses through the rocket in mid-flight. Despite the impact, the rocket continued its ascent without issue and successfully placed its satellite into orbit.
