Bus driver suspended for abandoning passengers to pray

A De Lijn driver stopped in Duisburg, near Tervuren, and got out of his bus to pray while passengers were still on board. The rules are clear: the driver must remain in the vehicle as long as it is carrying passengers. The company therefore imposed a penalty. The driver was given a four-day layoff. The incident highlighted the internal rule rather than the stop itself, and all was limited to this disciplinary measure.
