A Chinese car tries to do the same thing as a Range Rover (climb a staircase with 999 steps)

A Chinese manufacturer wanted to reproduce a stair climb made famous by a Range Rover ad, on the 999 steps of the Tianmen Mountain site in Zhangjiajie. The test was unsuccessful: the vehicle slipped and ended up hitting a railing, creating visible damage along the way. Chery has apologized and pledged to fully repair the damage. It acknowledges a lack of risk assessment and several errors in the preparation of the demonstration.
