In Porto Alegre, a school outing turned into chaos on Friday. A bus carrying 55 teenagers, two chaperones and a driver hit high-voltage cables in the city center. The driver got off to check, but the bus began to reverse on its own down a sloping street, hitting around ten cars before ending up against a building. The vehicle then caught fire. The students were evacuated in time, some helped by passers-by and young volunteer firemen. There were a few minor injuries, but no tragedy.
