Super typhoon Ragasa continues its destructive path, having already hit the Philippines and Taiwan. With winds in excess of 240 km/h, equivalent to a category 5 hurricane, it is now affecting Hong Kong and southern China. Giant waves taller than streetlamps are washing ashore, streets are flooded and traffic is impossible. Even the usually luxurious Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel found itself with water inside and rooms transformed into wetlands. The images show a city almost at a standstill.
