An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off Russia's Kamchatka peninsula early this morning. The epicenter was located around 140 km off the coast, at a depth of 10 km. A tsunami warning was issued for several regions: Russia, Japan, Hawaii and Alaska. Residents were asked to move to higher ground. No casualties or damage have yet been reported. Fishing boats have returned to port as a precaution. Authorities remain vigilant.
