Every summer, Pamplona becomes the scene of the San Fermín bull run. From July 7 to 14, six fighting bulls run through the narrow streets, followed by runners dressed in white with red scarves. The course is around 900 meters long, with the risk of being gored or trampled. Originally, it was just a way of getting the bulls to the arena, but the youngsters turned it into a challenge. Today, it's touristy, criticized for animal cruelty, but still very much followed. Some participants even dare to lie down as the bulls pass.
