A police officer was forced to shoot a man who continued to advance despite being fired at with "bean bag" cartridges - non-lethal projectiles designed to subdue without killing. Despite lengthy attempts at negotiation, the individual remained determined, finally forcing the officer to open fire. The officer can be seen breaking down in tears on the video taken by his body camera, overwhelmed by the emotion and violence of the incident. After attempts at a peaceful solution, the choice seemed inevitable.
