Father assaults a referee during a wrestling match between his son and another boy

A disturbing event took place at an independent wrestling tournament in Concord, North Carolina, on Saturday, June 22. During a match between two young wrestlers, a father lost his temper with the match referee. During the duel, the referee interrupted the competition to ask one of the participants, wearing a white leotard, to let go of his opponent's leg: the latter misunderstood his order. The child's father, unhappy with the way things were going, shouted and went on the attack. The referee lodged a complaint that same evening, and the father was arrested in Virginia, his place of residence. He was released on bail but had to turn himself in to the police in North Carolina, which he apparently failed to do a week later.
