Truck violently collides with learner driver at standstill

In a surprise incident in Liverpool, Ian Halliday, 45, at the wheel of a Scania truck, failed to slow down in the rain, colliding violently with a learner driver's vehicle and causing a three-car pile-up. Despite the seriousness of the incident, Halliday avoided prison. Convicted of reckless driving causing serious injury, he received a 26-week suspended sentence, a one-year driving ban and must retake his license.
