Barriers down, red lights: he crosses anyway and narrowly escapes death

The surveillance footage is chilling: a cyclist speeds across a railroad crossing in the Netherlands as the gates are coming down and the red lights are flashing. A yellow train narrowly misses him at high speed. ProRail released the video to raise awareness: over the past four years, the proportion of 10- to 29-year-olds involved in near-misses at railroad crossings has risen from 17% to 33%.
