Maritime tensions surrounding Iran are escalating. According to CENTCOM, US forces have destroyed several Iranian naval vessels, including 16 boats intended to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic area is one of the world's most important routes for oil tankers and merchant ships. Iran has not yet responded officially.
