A helicopter loses its tail in flight and everything is turned upside down

A Ka-226 helicopter is attempting to land in the Russian republic of Dagestan when its tail separates completely in mid-air. The pilot lost control, and the aircraft began to spin over the Caspian Sea, before crashing violently into a fortunately uninhabited house. The tragic outcome: five deaths among the seven occupants and two hospitalized injuries. I haven't been able to find out why they didn't just land on the beach..
