Giant pileup on I-70 in Indiana due to snowstorm

Around 50 vehicles were involved in a pile-up this weekend on I-70 near Terre Haute, Indiana. A snowstorm created difficult conditions with near-zero visibility. Cars spun out of control, brakes failed and a chain reaction of collisions ensued. Trucks, SUVs and cars found themselves on a veritable ice rink of snow and metal. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, although several people were examined in hospital.
