A Chinese brand tries to make its 4x4 climb the Tianmen steps

In China, automaker Chery attempted to take its Fengyun X3L up the 999 steps of Tianmen Mountain, a challenge already met by a Range Rover. The climb went awry: the electric SUV lost traction in mid-stride, rolled backwards and crashed into a barrier as filming visitors looked on. Chery explains that a safety cable came loose and wrapped around a wheel, cutting off power. No injuries, just a damaged ramp and a failed demonstration.
