Bad idea of the day: helping a migrant escape from a police car

In Chicago, a woman was filmed opening the door of a DHS SUV during an eviction operation. The scene took place in the Albany Park neighborhood on October 31, 2025. Inside the vehicle was a detainee. Upon seeing the woman attempt to intervene, an officer drew his weapon and pointed it at her to stop her gesture. 18 U.S.C. § 752 provides for up to 10 years' imprisonment for aiding escape.
