In Seattle, a man was seriously burned after accidentally setting himself on fire in an alley in the university district. According to police, he had fallen asleep next to an improvised fire he had lit to keep warm. At around 3 a.m., witnesses reported him running down the street on fire. Officers shouted at him to roll to the ground, but he kept running before collapsing. The police used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. The man suffered second-degree burns and was hospitalized in critical condition.
