student threatened with a knife over a bicycle in Brussels

A student was attacked with a knife this Friday morning on rue des Riches Claires, near Halles Saint-Géry in Brussels. He had rushed to retrieve his bicycle, which a thief was attempting to take from in front of the store where he works. The assailant returned with a knife, threatened the young man at the entrance to the store and forced him to barricade himself. The police quickly intervened. The store manager deplores repeated incidents in the area, especially from Thursday to Sunday, and is concerned about the rise in crime in the downtown area.
