The Metropolitan Police Service, nicknamed The Met, is the UK's largest police force, with around 46,000 employees. Founded in 1829 by Sir Robert Peel, it covers almost all of Greater London except the City, which has its own police force. Its missions range from pub brawls to counter-terrorism, as well as protecting royalty and the government. But the organization has a bad reputation for homophobia, racism and sexism, although efforts are being made. A recent robbery at a petrol station, ignored by nearby officers, doesn't really help.
