customer bites guard's thumb in Ohio supermarket

In Columbus, Ohio, a customer well known for his in-store troubles struck again, literally. The new security guard at a Kroger supermarket, who had been on the job for a month, had already had to deal with this man six or seven times. On Tuesday, he tried to evict him after yet another incident. The individual, L.A. Willis (58), became violent, tackled the security guard to the ground and bit off his thumb, tearing off a piece. Paramedics recovered the severed part and transported the victim, who was stable, to hospital. Willis was arrested, charged with aggravated assault and placed on $2 million bail.
