A singer launches himself into the audience, but no one catches him

During a small festival called Bolagio, a singer attempted a stagedive (dives into the audience). He climbed onto a high chair, gained a little momentum and launched himself into the crowd. The problem was that the audience didn't quite grasp the concept. As a result, no one caught up with him. He crashes to the ground, but there's no real sense of discomfort in the room. He gets up again as best he can. Maybe a bit of pain tomorrow, and certainly less desire to do it again.
