Fatal plane crash on a freeway near Brescia

A small sports plane crashed on Tuesday afternoon on the A21 freeway near Brescia, Italy. The aircraft struck the ground at high speed before exploding. The two occupants died: a 75-year-old lawyer from Milan and a 60-year-old woman. Witnesses reported seeing a sudden dive, as if the pilot were attempting an emergency landing, but without success.
