Melbourne chase ends in unexpected shock

A 36-year-old man steals a white van in St Kilda, Melbourne's backpacker district. He is later spotted in Footscray and a chase ensues. He ran all the lights, hit several cars and sped through the city, even over the West Gate Bridge. The chopper follows, as do cop cars. At Point Cook, he tried to escape by jumping out of the window of the moving van. It was a mistake.
