They climb on top of a police car: Amsterdam's King's Day ends in turmoil

Young people refused to turn down the music and disperse at the end of the King's Day party in Amsterdam's De Pijp district. At around 10pm, they attacked a city council car. Mounties and riot police intervened. Earlier, a man was stabbed while trying to break up a fight on the Bloemgracht. In Rotterdam, a 43-year-old man was shot dead. In Dordrecht, a woman was shot. Several people were also injured in Berkel and Groningen.
