David Hallatt, 57, father of two daughters, died trying to calm an altercation outside a pub in Chichester after a Euro 2024 match. As he intervened to protect a man on the ground, Kieran Egan, 30, struck him violently. The blow, described by witnesses as stronger than a gunshot, caused a fractured skull and brain damage. David died on the spot. Egan, on trial for murder, was convicted of manslaughter. David's family mourns a loving and devoted man.
