A damning video shows Kshamenk, a 35-year-old orca, in his tank at the Mundomarino, Argentina's largest aquarium. The marine mammal, described as the world's loneliest orca, was filmed in timelapse for 24 hours remaining motionless, his face turned towards the gate of his enclosure, as if begging for his release. Captured and taken to the Mundomarino in 1992, Kshamenk lives in a concrete tank, with little room to move around. After the death of his fellow captive in 2000, Kshamenk spent the rest of his life in complete isolation. UrgentSeas, an NGO campaigning against marine captivity, lobbied for Kshamenk's release and relocation to an orca sanctuary.
