    Ireland says NO to changing the traditional concept of family in the Constitution

    In Ireland, the referendum to revise constitutional provisions relating to women and the family was rejected. Proposed to modernize texts deemed outdated, the ballot failed to convince the electorate, despite the support of the main political parties. Turnout was low, and the initiative failed, marking a setback for Leo Varadkar's government and preserving the status quo on the definition of the family and the role of mothers.
